Oriental Dance Workshop with Live Music from world class composer Chalf Hassan and unique Egyptian dance artist, Melanie Norman.
Sunday 6th September 2009 from 10:30am to 4.30pm.
Hassan will sing, and play oud, tabla and keyboard, while Melanie will present carefully prepared material in four contrasting sessions. Melanie will teach technique, including steps, strong and fluid hips, relaxing into taqsim with beautiful hands and graceful arms. In addition, she will introduce you to stylish and flamboyant Cairene combinations and feeling the joy of movement whilst improvising to a song, all in a most supportive and encouraging atmosphere with a lot of focus.
