Details: This is an intensive certification course taught by the native Egyptian instructor and choreographer, Faten Salama, who will give you an insight into Egyptian folkoric dance. Learn about the origins of folkloric dance, its influence on oriental dance and how to incorporate this into your performances.
Workshops include: Introduction of Egypt’s different geographical areas and to "Labanotation" (the study of how steps are explained & written in order to preserve them; the Art & dance of Southern Egypt; Explore Northern Egypt, followed by an opportunity to apply what you have learned with live musicians.
Faten Salama has delighted the International Belly Dance community for decades. Faten began dancing at 11 years of age when she was selected to attend the first ever national folk troupe of Egypt dance school for children and was one of the first dancers selected for Egypt's National Folk Troupe.
