Further information: Ashraf Hassan was born in Cairo, Egypt. He got his Diploma in 1982 as a professional dancer in classical ballet dance, and studied folk and Oriental dance in different theatres in Cairo. Ashraf was engaged as a professional dancer for six years by Cairo Opera House, and he danced with several folk dance groups in Cairo for many years. Ashraf 
now resides in Cairo, where he teaches all styles of folk dance, ballet and Oriental dance, from beginners to professionals.
Ashraf has taught workshops worldwide at different festivals in different countries such as Egypt, Ahlan Wa Sahlan festival, Brazil, Australia, Czech Repulic, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Austria, France, England and USA.
Ashraf is a Choreographer, master teacher and a certified instructor as well. He has his own dance group in Cairo.
