Details: World Belly Dance Day has been organised since 2007, as a way to promote belly dance all over the world as a proper art form, thus trying to dispel a lot of misconceptions still surrounding it. World Bellydance Day invite all belly dancers and belly dance lovers all over the world to organise their own bellydance related events.
It can be anything, it does not have to be a big event, as long as it is done for non commercial purposes and any income is donated to charity (any charity of your choice).
Belly dance enthusiasts can organise haflas, workshops, shows, get-together, anything will do. World Belly Dance Day is held every year on the second Saturday of May, which in 2010 falls on the 8th of May. You are all invited to join the World Belly Dance Day in celebration of this beautiful art form!
