Experience & style: Sharlene is a JWAAD trained teacher based in Dunstable Bedfordshire
and has been dancing since 1988 when she was 16 years old. (Born in Newport, Gwent in 1972) and teaching since July 2000.

She finds teaching extremely rewarding, especially the intense analytical side of technical instruction, even matching the move to the muscle and creating new and varied choreographies with lots of
authentic expression! She appreciates how brilliant it is to see students becoming more proficient in the dance and the positive benefits of raised self-esteem and self-confidence. Her favourite
styles include Saaidi, Baladi and a dynamic Drum solo or two. Her favourite accompanying speciality are the Finger cymbals with belly dance (Sagats). She has her own label and designs and makes her own costumes.

Sharlene has also taught and performed at FANTASIA the U.K.’s largest Bi-Annual Arabic Dance Festival and Co-produced two successful Bellydance Theatre Shows "The Jewels of The Nile" at the Luton Library Theatre with well known performers such as Khaled Mahmoud, Galit Mersand, Tracey Gibbs and Ozgen Ozgec.
