Other additional information: Anthea has been a full-time professional teacher and performer for over 20 years, and was a featured dancer at many D.C. venues. She also studied and performed Middle Eastern folkloric dances with the Topkapi Dancers for 10 years.
She has developed an original ITS (group improvisation) bellydance format; and she has also composed and released a CD of New Age Bellydance music. She directs the PRISM Dancers, a non-professional performing group in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
She has written two instructional booklets: Kawakib's Dance Tips covers Oriental Dance composition, music interpretation, improvisation, and choreography; while the Guide to Teaching Middle Eastern Dance is for new teachers or teachers who want ideas on planning their class material.
