I teach Egyptian belly dance and fusions. I am a member of the SI FD Society of International Folk, dance and have been dancing for over 11 years and teaching for over 8 years.
I also hold quarterly Belly Dance Show Case Nights called ‘Club Mizmar’ in Bishops Stortford.
Interesting information: A friend of mine took me to a belly dance class and it is something I had always wanted to try, so I went along with her. She left the class 2 weeks later and I stayed on. I love this wonderful dance, it is such a magical dance form, mysterious and yet familiar, the beautiful dance moves compliment the female form so well, in fact, it celebrates all that is female. As well as this, it is therapeutic and has been used as an anti natal exercise in helping to ease the pain of labour with its lyrical moves. Some even think it is a fertility dance!!! Hey, it is just so good for so many things, and you will meet such wonderful friends in the class! Have a go!

Experience and style: American Tribal Style is a modern Bellydance format with roots in Egyptian, African and Flamenco dance. It is a group dance format where dancer lead a vocabulary of dance steps with cues and there is a lead dancer who the others follow. The lead is then passed around the dancers. The beauty of this dance style is that anyone who knows the FCBD (Fat Chance Belly Dance) format can then come together and dance, creating a sisterhood across the world, a universal dance language.
Improvised Tribal Style – This is an extension of the improvised dance style, dancers learn a variety of moves and combos with cue using a 25 yard skirt as a prop. This is an intermediate level so open to dancers once they have completed the Level 1 (6 weeks)and Level 2 (12 weeks) 2 Fat Chance Bellydance course.
